Our policy consultant, Jenn O'Connor, ran through slides detailing the history of the LEAPS/BOOST programs, funding challenges (including at the federal level), and our budget request for FY2026-27. Ramon Peguero, President & CEO of the Committee for Hispanic Children & Families personalized our budget ask by talking about the families these programs serve.
We are grateful to the more than 80 attendees for their attention and support, including Assembly Members Chandler-Waterman, Chang, Mitaynes, Jensen, and Maher and Senators Gounardes and Hunter, as well as staff from many additional Senate and Assembly offices.

Choose Your Future Night and Hands-On Creativity at William Cullen Bryant High School
Global Kids at William Cullen Bryant High School hosted a table at the school’s Choose Your Future Night, in collaboration with the College and Career Team. The event welcomed over 100 students and more than 50 families. Representatives from CUNY, SUNY, private colleges, trade schools, law enforcement, and civil service agencies attended to share valuable information about college and career pathways available to our students.
On October 10th, Global Kids lunch club students enjoyed a creative painting activity where they designed their own tote bags and T-shirts. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, unwind from academics, and engage in a fun, hands-on recreational experience. Go Owls!
