Violinist Inspires PS 114 Students

NYS 21cclc made national news! Check out some amazing things the students from Brooklyn Riders Elementary School are accomplishing.

Young musicians in CAMBA’s All Stars After-School Program at Ryder Elementary School in Canarsie made the national news! Since 2017, CAMBA has partnered with The Harmony Program to offer intensive violin instruction after-school for children in our All Stars program. Through this partnership, Rachel Barton Pine, violinist and founder of the Music by Black Composers Project, visited CAMBA’s All Stars program as captured in a segment on the CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell on Thursday, January 16th. The violinist performed and also discussed music written by black composers with our young musicians. CAMBA is pleased to offer this—and many other–enrichment opportunities after-school at Ryder Elementary thanks to support from the NY State Department of Education, 21cclc, DYCD and The Harmony Program. Please see the story here:
